Busy week

By | 24 January 2012

Monday to visit a member school – great weather, ridiculous in January.  Lovely boarding with a really warm and welcoming feel, and great lunch.  Good to see boarding in good heart.
Tuesday to a meeting with MOSA – Medical Officers in Schools Association – never easy territory for boarding schools, always good to stay in touch with key people.
Wednesday to Cardiff for Deputies’ Conference.  Really exciting because possibly our best line-up of speakers in the last five years, including parenting expert Noel Janis-Norton and social anthropologist author Kate Fox, whose book ‘Watching the English: the Hidden Rules of English Behaviour’  could be a very useful tool for boarding staff guiding new international students through the maze of English behaviour and expectations.  Conference ends on Saturday – we are really impressed by how many deputies are prepared to give up valuable weekend time – thank you.
After which, another week bites the dust.  January always hectic at BSA, with two conferences and many training days for Gap students.  February promises to be quieter, particularly when half term strikes and the phones go quiet.
